            MRWBA Donates $5,0000 to Central Virginia Legal Aid

            Historically, MRWBA members have raised funds for and published a Domestic Relations Pamphlet to help educate the public about domestic relations laws in Virginia. In recent years, we have found that it is duplicative of other organizations’ work and have discontinued publication.  The good news is that we have funds that were donated to support the project that we would like to share with non-profits in the Richmond area who do important domestic relations legal work. 

            The first grant of $5,000 was provided to Central Virginia Legal Aid Society at the December 1 luncheon (pictured below, MRWBA President Mollie Barton with CVLAs representative and MRWBA member Rhonda Earhart).  Two additional $5,000 grants will be made in 2022, based upon a selection process that is currently being developed.  Further information about this process and future grants will be available soon.

            Legislative Priorities Survey


            The Legislative Committee is working on developing the list of legislative priorities for the upcoming General Assembly Session and Legislative Luncheon, and needs input from the membership.


            Members, take the brief (three question) survey to let the committee know where you think the focus should be in the coming year!
