        Member Spotlight

This month’s spotlighted MRWBA member is Leanna Minix of Harman, Claytor, Corrigan & Wellman. She is a graduate of Washington & Lee Law School.

        Where were you born?

        Salem, Virginia

Tell us a little about yourself.  Spouse? Children? Pets?

I have a Whoodle (Wheaten Terrier/Poodle) named Maisie and my boyfriend has a rescue husky mix named Fox. Between the two of them, our house is full of dog excitement.

What type of law do you practice?

My practice focuses on professional liability, commercial disputes, medical malpractice, and premises liability matters.

What do you like most about practicing law?

I changed my area of practice this year from post-conviction appeals to civil litigation, but I continue to enjoy digging into interesting topics and getting to the heart of evolving legal issues.

What is the one app on your phone you cannot live without?

        Starbucks!

What movie or TV show can you watch over and over again, no matter how many times you have seen it?

        The Mindy Project.

If I wasn't practicing law I would be...

An editor for a publisher, probably focused on non-fiction works (although editing novels would be a blast).

If you were to visit my office, one of the first things you would notice would be...

A group photograph of Chief Judge William P. Johnson's chambers (in Albuquerque, New Mexico) styled to look like an album cover with several of us holding superimposed instruments.

What book is currently on your bedside table?

        Dune by Frank Herbert.
